G’day readers and welcome to my little passion project! My name is Cooper and here are a few random facts about me that you may or may not find interesting;

I work at BWS, one of Australia’s biggest liquor stores

I currently study advertising at RMIT

My favourite animal are ducks

I am obsessed with Craft Beer

I spend my free time drawing, writing, or doing market research (research on the beer market… aka drinking lots of beer)

And I have a very ‘surfy’ aesthetic.

So… What’s the deal with this blog?

Well I have to create a blog for one of my university assignments, but I’ve really wanted to create a beer blog for a long time now so the uni assignment just gave me that extra little forced push I needed.

I will mainly be reviewing craft beers that I’ve tried and craft beers that have landed on the shelves at work. This is not a professional review of the beers and all of these reviews will be my own personal opinion.

With that out of the way lets get into my review system!

Here’s how I’m gonna review the beers I try.

I’ll start off with a story, maybe it’ll be my own personal experience or a little bit of info about the beer itself.
I’ll then segway into the criteria.

Smell: Gotta smell nice.
Taste: If I don’t tell you how it tastes then why am I reviewing beer?
Label: I love looking at label designs and I reckon they’re part of what makes a craft beer appealing
Alcohol Content: how dangerous is this beer?

Then I’ll give it a rating. The maximum rating will be 100 and the lowest will be 0. I’m a bit of a harsh marker and I like having a lil wow factor of a beer being highly marked compared to the rest.

100 = Perfect
90–99 = Amazing
80–89 = Very Good
70–79 = Solid
60–69 = Alright
40–59= Meh
20–39= Not Good
10–19 = Yeah nah not trying this again
0–9 = Haha no

Expect most beers to fall around 45–75 area. There’s only a couple I’d put in the 80s and only 1 I’d put in the 90s. I don’t like overhyping things so the beers that get the top ranges will be the ones that are incredibly memorable and taste the best!

And with all of that out of the way, stay tuned for the incoming reviews!
